M&T Bank Opens New Eco-Friendly Branch in Gaithersburg

On Monday, January 9, M&T Bank will open another signature eco-friendly branch in Maryland with the opening of the Diamond Farms location in Gaithersburg, located at 5 Bank Street across from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

?Our new Diamond Farms office is a great enhancement to our extensive branch network in Montgomery County and it?s also friendly to the environment,? said Stephen Heine, M&T Bank?s Greater Washington Market Manager. ?We believe our customers will enjoy the modern look and feel of the branch while we all will benefit from the reduction of our carbon footprint.?

The contemporary look of the new M&T branch fuses traditional bank design with environmentally friendly elements. A signature look of the architectural design is the colonnade with high canopy intended to reduce direct sunlight into the branch.

The branch was constructed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards (LEED) established by the U.S. Green Building Council and includes a number of environmentally friendly features to make it a more comfortable place for customers to bank and employees to work including:
